Our Commitment
Flint Housing is committed to making our website accessible to all regardless of disability.
We want everyone to be able to use this website. Our aim is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standard. This means you should be able to:
- Change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings.
- Zoom in up to 400% without text spilling off the screen.
- Navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software.
- Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver).
We have also made the website text as simple as possible to understand. AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Known issues
We are aware of the following accessibility issues and are working to address them:
- Some of our policy documents are provided as PDF files that may not be fully compatible with all screen readers. We will provide accessible alternatives on request.
- Some images across the site may be missing descriptive alternative text. We are auditing all images and adding appropriate descriptions.
- Embedded maps used to show development locations may not be fully operable by keyboard alone. Text descriptions of locations are available on the relevant project pages.

We have not identified any content we believe would be a disproportionate burden to make accessible at this time.
Technical Information
The www.flint-housing.co.uk website is built using modern HTML5, CSS and JavaScript. It uses semantic HTML elements, ARIA labels where appropriate, and colour contrast ratios designed to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA requirements.
The site has been tested against WCAG 2.2 Level AA criteria using a combination of manual review and automated tooling. We use keyboard navigation testing and screen reader testing (NVDA on Windows and VoiceOver on macOS and iOS) as part of our evaluation process.
